We are interested in exploring one of the forgotten beauties of art: the ability to transport the reader into a place of the author’s choosing. The author serves as creator and guide of a unique journey. Art allows the reader to depart from the world they know and enter another. Whether the reader departs for another planet, another country, or just a short way down the street, we believe that these journeys are far from escapism. Rather, each departure should help to build a clearer understanding of the world, to illuminate our connections with others, and to help us make sense of our own lives.
